Welcome to AlzU.org!
AlzU.org was created by a team of
experts to offer the most up-to-date information on Alzheimer's disease (AD) prevention, treatment and caregiving.
Join now to access one of 6 free online courses - one that focuses primarily on AD
prevention for the general public with
12 lessons (5-15 min, each) and
12 activities which have
advanced education research and reached nearly 1,500,000 people in over 60
countries. We also had a CME-accredited course for healthcare providers, as well as a course for high school,
college, medical school students and Neurology residents supported by a grant from Hilarity for Charity. Additional
funding for this work has been generously provided by the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation, the Annual Memories
for Mary event (organized by David Twardock and family), and charitable donations from grateful patients.
AlzU has been featured on the NBC Today Show, CNN.com, The Dr. Oz Show as well as numerous print (including Parade Magazine) and online
publications (such as Every Day Health), and was created by researchers from around the globe.
About The Lessons
After joining, begin one of our interactive courses on Everything One Needs to Know about Alzheimer's
information for 2019 and beyond. Lessons are completed online, anytime and each lasts on average from 5-15
minutes.
For the course for the general public, ten lessons are available with more coming soon. Topics include the
Stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD), Diagnosis of AD, and the latest scientifically-studied ways to reduce AD
risk or delay onset, as well as to treat AD, covering medications, vitamins / supplements, nutrition, and
physical and mental exercise. Many activities also help to keep the brain engaged and keep people updated on the
latest options for brain health, clinical trials, and more. There are currently 3 lessons each for the high
school and college courses, as well as 5 lessons each for the healthcare provider, medical student and Neurology
resident courses.
AlzU.org also has a Caregivers course accessible when you join the Prevention course for the public. In 2020, we launched additional content geared for new audiences.
Lessons can be viewed on any computer, as well as on cell phones (e.g., iPhone, Android) and tablet devices,
although many users find the content to work better and be more effective on a desktop or laptop.

Creating An Account
Enter your email address as your username then select a password. Immediately after, you will receive a welcome
email. Once you register and login for the first time, you will first complete a short survey, and then complete the
first 2 lessons and activities before unlocking the remaining lessons/activities.
It is important that you complete all the surveys as well as multiple choice questions. The questions will be
used as part of an evaluation to try to determine just how much people actually 'learn' from participating. Both
before and after each of the lessons there will be 3 multiple choice questions to answer.
